About Me
A Detroit Native, I grew up on the east side of Detroit. I graduated from Bishop Gallagher High School in Harper Woods, Michigan. I continued my education at Eastern Michigan University where I received my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. After graduating, I worked in the Troy School District as a Before and After School Supervisor and Prekindergarten Assistant Teacher for 2 years. I then moved on to Center Line School District and taught Prekindergarten for 2 years. In December 2012, I received by Master Degree from Madonna University in Literacy Education. While teaching, I returned to school to pursue my Master Degree in Literacy Education. I currently have been teaching for Detroit Public Schools Community SCHOOL DISTRICT for almost 9 years as a Great Teacher Readiness Teacher, Prekindergarten.
For me, the teaching profession brings together some of my greatest passions—working with children, being a lifelong learner, and serving as a positive role model for others. I love being able to experience children’s moments of discovery, and am often fascinated by the creativity, imagination, and wonder that illustrate their young minds.
